FY25 A.I. Using Data to Inform Negotiations
Attendees will learn from the Swampscott Public Schools and the Marblehead Public Schools how, using the LITIX K12 platform, they leveraged data to navigate challenges during teacher contract negotiations in Swampscott and a teachers' strike in Marblehead. The discussion will highlight how the tool enabled better-informed, real-time decision-making, providing critical support during a high-pressure situation.

Cheryl Herrick-Stella
Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations
Swampscott Public Schools
Cheryl started her career in the private sector working for Cambridge Associates, LLC for 12 years in a variety of roles, with a focus on Private Equity and Venture Capital. Upon becoming a mother, she decided it was time for a career change to achieve more of a work life balance. Municipal finance was something on her radar as previously she had been involved in a work study program at Bentley University working for the City Auditor's office in Waltham. After a variety of municipal finance roles in Ipswich, Swampscott and Littleton, Cheryl decided to make the switch to try the school business administrator role. This was something that had always been a strong desire for her to learn and understand more as the school budget often dominated the budget conversations when working for the Town. Her first experience was for Ipswich Public Schools as the Finance Director, she left that position when the Swampscott opportunity became available and has been at Swampscott now for 2.5 years, currently as the Assistant Superintendent of Finance & Operations.
