The 3-day course will provide a comprehensive view of Special Education financial management. Participants will gain an understanding of the Individual Education Program (IEP) process and the impact to staffing, transportation, related services, and finances. Course sessions will include speakers/practitioners; hand's on activities; and discussions of best practices. By the conclusion of the course, participants will have gained the knowledge necessary to actively participate in the development of a Special Education budget that meets the needs of all students in the most cost effective manner.

Position Control refers to a system of tracking information based on positions rather than employees. It creates a framework of positions for all the jobs within your district without regard to whether there is an incumbent in a specific job or not. Position control can apply to individual positions with one employee or positions that are a large group (e.g. substitutes). Its primary purpose is to track budget based on timeframe and/or funding source and FTE (headcount).
