When we think of leadership, we think of a single individual. Increasingly, organizations demand everyday leadership behaviors throughout to address complexity and constant change. Understanding how to lead is as important as the tasks of a leader. In this session, you will learn what leadership is, hear stories about how leaders have been successful in leading others to lead and finally begin to adopt a set of tools and practices to develop leaders.

Steven Leduc
Lead, R&D Learning and Talent Management; Adjunct Professor
Boston College
With 30 years of experience in Fortune 500 organizations, Steven Leduc has led the design and implementation of talent and leadership development strategies and large scale transformation and organizational design initiatives. Steven currently leads Learning and Talent Management for the Research and Development organization Takeda Pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining Takeda, Steven has been in various Human Resources (HR) positions throughout his career. He has worked at DellEMC, Deutsche Bank AG, PriceWaterhouse Coopers LLP, and Merck & Co., Inc. primarily with HR Advisory and Organizational Development responsibilities. Most recently, Steven was a Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Raytheon Technologies.
Steven earned a master’s degree in HR Management and an MBA in Finance, both from Rutgers University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree, in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. He received a Certificate in Principles and Practices in Organizational Development from Columbia University Teacher’s College and is certified in a variety of psychometric assessments, including Hogan Assessments, Predictive Index and MBTI and is a Certified Organization Design Professional.
Additionally, he is currently part-time faculty at the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, where he teaches change management and leadership courses at the undergraduate level and organizational behavior at the graduate level. Not content with conflict at work, Steven is also a certified IAABO basketball official. His life’s joy is spending time with his wife and raising four children, who are now adults and taught him all he ever needed to know about servant leadership and psychological safety.

Sam Rippin has been the School Business Manager for the Peabody Public Schools since 2022. Prior to Peabody, Sam has worked in a similar capacity in five other districts since 2001.
Sam is currently the Immediate Past President of MASBO. He also holds the Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations (SFO) from ASBO.
He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Ohio.
He has presented at both MASBO and ASBO conferences on many occasions.
